The legendary horror production company Blumhouse is ready to spend "five nights at freddy's," adapting the popular video game series set in a children's restaurant called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where the animatronic creatures inside go on a killing rampage after closing time. Emma Tammi ("The Wind") will direct the film.

Tammi, the game's creator Scott Cawthon, and Seth Cuddeback are writing the script. The film will be produced by Cawthon and Jason Blum of Blumhouse in collaboration with Striker Entertainment. The show's executive producer is Russell Binder.

The production of the murderous children's mascots is being handled by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. Production is expected to start in February of 2023.
