Silk is a very valuable natural protein fiber. The proteins are biodegradable organic polymers with reactive functionality groups. Silk cloth is long, thin, and delicate. They are well-known for their durability, absorbency, sheen, and wrinkle prevention. Due to these features, kalamkari silk sarees and ajrakh silk sarees are in demand. However, natural silk has several drawbacks. Sunlight, perspiration, bleach, body oils, fragrances, and fading all damage it. It is occasionally merged with other materials to create "blend silk."
